the movie theater.
our eyes were lit up by the glow of the screen
and i was staring into yours.
what movie?
this is our time-
our time to revel in the beauty of blue lighting.
we were illuminated
as i kissed you,
knowing no one was around to see…
the empty theater bellowing noise
to preoccupied ears.
i wanted to say it
but my lips couldn’t make the correct shapes.
my voice wouldn’t make the sounds come out.
i was a mute.
i could only smile
and let it grow-
let the words grow inside of me
until they burst out like fireworks oneday.
until then, i will be here
in this blue light waiting…
waiting for my moment to explode.
